I have done this sketch with my first set of Staedtler pencils. Inspiration to work with these pencils was because of many reviews from my peers at the art class. More so, I came across a young girl who had been gifted a set of 12 shades (quiet costly on the pocket) by her father to encourage her for her fondness in art and drawing. After getting my hands on the set and it lying around for some time, I finally did a portrait of Cobie.
Yes, the pencils felt at times butter smooth on the cartridge paper. I was unable to explore the complete range of shades that could be got from this set.The face looks a bit on the lighter side.The black shade has come out well. Hopefully with some more practices the face shades do come as bit dark.
