This sketch is my continuation of the beauty series. This too has been done with Staedtler pencils. I really appreciate the darkness that it lends to the sketch. The variation of other shades too is good. I took special care this time to improve the skin tone variation compared to the hair and the overall darkness of the sketch. I am happy with the result showed on the photograph of the sketch. It has improved compared to previous
Cobie Smulders.
The frustrating part was drawing the hair. A lot of intricacies and shade variation. It tested my patience. I think now that pencil sketch it very difficult especially achieving the smooth variations of the shading. That too was one of my goals in this. It also helps me to think the painting is like flowing while applying on the surface but sketch is a precision, the tonal variation really makes you thinking.
