Speaking about
mom, she may have been one of the most beautiful persons in our life
(in all aspects).
The most wonderful being,
she's an expression for love and care. She believes in you for what you are, in
turn boosts your confidence in yourself.
What is something that you
remember from your earliest days about her? Hmm.. It may be just the feeling of
warmth that usually realize, now and always. It is inherent as it is the same
feeling with which she loves and cares for us. Maybe the earliest would be the
soft caressing touch of her loving hands as she held us to her.
You smile at someone you
like, may be for greeting them. For a thought, it may be the same smile that
would have received from your mother when she is happy to see you,
acknowledging your uniqueness and you as a source of joy in her life.
Together with your
father she weaves a mattress on which you crawl, walk and finally be able to
run. She may be layered by judgments as you run and finally fly with wings of
imagination. It's her love for us that finally pierces across all judgments and
prejudices, for she has a vision for us from the moment of our birth and that
is us.
In the drawing I have tried
to express some of the many roles she plays as we grow. Maybe inspiration is my
aunt; she has two really lovely naughty kids. In the drawing mother is playing
with her son. He wants her to pick him up and hold him. Initially she tries to
persuade him away. Then she starts playing with her child. The child also
initially wants to get to his mom, but seeing her play he forgets and starts to
reach out for her long beautiful foliage. She also teases him to see his smile
and anger and this playful exchange of affections continues between them.
Medium is posters on
paper.
