28 years before my journey began with her on this earth. Its her love, commitment and care that's an inspiration to the family. She was there when whole world seemed to end. Yes, she was the one who boosted my moral from every seemingly self defeat. She was the strength on whom I relied. All this she was and is now. I may have grown to be an independent man but all the good attributes of strength, will, love and care I vow to her and my father. This art is a dedication to Mummy for the love, strength, and care she has shown to all of us and the countless errands she does for our happiness. She is the heart beat of the family.
This is an oil portrait done on oil paper. This has been my second try with oil medium for doing portraits. The subject(Mummy) has been dimly lit by Indian lamp called as 'deepa'. I have done this with multiple coatings. I took a while to paint this as I tried my best to get the smoothness on the face. I am pretty much happy with this attempt. Hope to do more portraits and improve on the way. It was quiet a challenge to make the face seem brighter and to bring out the affect of lamp.
